Redondo Beach will observe Memorial Day 2024 at the Veterans Memorial in beautiful Veterans Park by the Redondo Pier. The ceremony will begin at 1 PM on Monday, 27 May. The event will include reflection and remembrances, commentary and honors to all those that made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives for their country…
 
Keynote speaker is Redondo resident Captain Stacey L. Crecy, U.S Coast Guard,
 Commanding Officer, USCG Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach, Terminal Island, San Pedro.
 
Mayor Jim Light will provide a civic greeting.
Congressman Ted Lieu, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, civic leaders, veterans and military dignitaries will also participate.
 
 Mr. Raymundo Vizcarra and the Redondo Union High School Wind Ensemble will perform. Vocalist is local resident Dennis McNeil
 
The family of the late Mayor Bill Brand will be presented the American Flag from the Memorial during the ceremony.
 
The Coastal Naval Sea Cadets, Redondo High Junior ROTC and the Scouts are supporting Memorial Day.
 
Donations and contributions are still being accepted for the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial. Sponsorships available along with the purchase of Memorial Bricks.

 The event will be followed by a BBQ hosted by the Redondo Beach Elks Lodge in the 
  Elk’s parking lot south of their building adjacent to Veterans Parks.
  The BBQ is free to all veterans and members of the military, police officers,       firefighters. A $5 dollars donation from all others.
 
Memorial Day in Redondo Beach is open to the public.
