Engine & Police Response
We continued to support the affected areas with Police personnel on a daily basis.
Our Fire Department continued to support the entire disaster with two fire engines, with a full crew.
Monday Jan 20th
Drawdown and Rotation of Resources
Our Fire Department, through rotations, continued to support the ongoing efforts.
As resources from across the State and other States arrived, crews rotated and one fire engine with the entire crew came back to Redondo.
Tuesday Jan 21st & Wednesday Jan 22nd
Drawdown complete
All Redondo Beach resources are back in quarters in Redondo.

No injuries reported.
Two weeks of Fire Department support, two engines to the Fire areas. 14 days+, with full cost recovery expected by FEMA.
830 hours for Police officers hours, 12+ personnel. 3 arrests made.
We offer exemption to our Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) bed tax for the hotels for those affected by the fires.
Tuesday Response
Immediate Engine Response
RB Fire immediately sent two Fire engines with full crews to the Palisades Fire. The request was made and fulfilled immediately, with one of our brand new engines being sent to support the operations.
The investment in our new equipment and training was paramount to this response.
Wednesday Response
Additional Fire & Police Resources
When the Hollywood fire broke out, we immediately sent a third engine to assist in West LA in support of emergency calls for service. This totaled three engines with a full fire crew.
Our Police Chief provided a total of 12 officers and two sergeants. The Police officers made three arrests, two involving attempted robbery.
Thursday Response
Greater Jurisdictional Response
We continued to support all aspects of the disaster. Our personnel continued to stay in place until resources from Northern California, out of State resources, and National Guard is in place.
Police were dispatched to the Eaton Fire, on a peacekeeping mission to ensure no looting.
Friday Response
Draw down & Local Response
Fire and Police resources slowly being drawn down, with Fire personnel to remain for the next 5+ days until more Statewide resources are made available.
Locally, extra public safety patrols are being made for sensitive areas.

Fire Storm
Our brave firefighters were in the middle of the firestorm Tuesday night. They battled alongside hundreds of other firefighters that night.

The New York Times caught a glimpse of one of our Engines fighting a structure fire and posted the image on the Instagram and other Social Media accounts.
Full Staffing
Our ability to provide three engines during this time is nothing but extraordinary.
This means we were able to provide both of our extra engines for the disaster, but additionally an extra engine from our regular staffing needs.
We were able to backup everything to keep us safe.

Cars were abandoned during the palisades Fire, which had to be moved via bulldozer. RB Fire was captured by a NBC News of our Fire Engine.
